Welcome to 5th Grade :) I am so excited about getting to know each other as the year goes on. In the past, a lot of students have trouble pronouncing my name, but once they get the hang of it, it is easy!

Blauvelt = BLAW-velt

One of the things you will hear me talk about a lot are my two sons, Reid (3) and Graham (18 months). We spent so much time together this summer and had so much fun. We swam in our pool, went to story time at our library, took lots of walks to the park, and even went camping! 

This coming school year will be my 11th year teaching and my 6th year with Council Rock. I previously taught in a small rural town in Honduras, then a private school in North Philadelphia before coming to Council Rock in 2019. Throughout my years of teaching, I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th grade! I graduated with my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Hope College and my Masters degree in Reading from Holy Family University. 

Learning has always been a life-long passion of mine and being a teacher is the best job in the world! I am so excited to make learning fun this year while also seeing you grow, both academically and as a person. One of my favorite quotes is "Always believe in the more that is within you". You will see this quote displayed in our room throughout the year. This year it is my hope that you never give up on yourself, no matter how hard something may seem. There is always something more in you to give, learn, and achieve.
