Birthday Celebrations

A Birthday Message 

 

 

Parents:

As a second grade team, we would like to share our tradition of birthday celebrations.

In lieu of sending in birthday edible treats, the teachers will read to the class a favorite book of the birthday child! This book can be:

1. A favorite book sent in from home

2. A book the child chooses out of the classroom library  

3. Or a book that the student brings in and donates to the classroom library

When choosing a book, please consider the length of the book. Books that are 5-10 minutes long are just right for our birthday celebrations. Also, please note that the teacher will be reading the story to the class.

We realize that this may be a change. However, we are pleased to be able to continue this tradition. We believe that the student will feel excited and special when the teacher honors him/her by reading the book he/she has chosen.
